Well I must say that I had a pleasant surprise today when Graham informed me that I was nominated for ‘Artist of the Month’.

I always loved drawing and painting when I had the time but only for my own enjoyment. A few years ago when I acquired my first computer I did have time on my hands and started writing poetry. I discovered IDF50, joined and began submitting poems on there.
TerryD who was the moderator at that time gave me much help advice and encouragement and I went on to have a book of humorous poems published three years ago.

After that I started writing poems for a children’s book and knew that these would be better if they were illustrated, I asked my daughter who is a good artist if she could do them for me but as she works full time and has a family she said it would take her too long and asked me why I didn’t have a go!

I like a challenge so when I was on holiday last year I started doing this and also did a couple of flower paintings. I was quite pleased with the results and decided to post them on the Artist’s forum and had a lot of encouragement from the members of the forum.
