Default Who is the expert on business cards

Hi Guys

My dear daughter has given me a chore so who do I turn to? you guessed it.

My daughter is a nanny/maternity nurse and she wishes to start some sort of advertising campaign to find pregnant mums in the north. At present, all her work seems to be in London so she travels there every week from Liverpool and wishes to change it, hence the adverts.

She wants a business card that she can have a logo of 2 babies feet. In the past, a friend designed and made some in a fabric and she had to stick them on but you can guess the problems this caused.

Also, is it worth thinking about making your own cards when they can be bought online and in many of the printing shops.

Would appreciate your comments please.

Well I make all my own cards, and it's fairly simple to do. There are several programs around for making cards and business cards and so on, I'm sure you'll get a few suggestions on here. ( I use my big graphics program for mine, but there are smaller programs.) Keep the design simple for a more professional appearance - look at the way other cards are done.

For your logo, is it possible to draw the design so you can then scan it in?

You can buy sheets of business card, where you print your design and break the sheet up into individual cards. The better quality ones work very well, though if you're thinking of producing numbers in the hundreds, it may be better to take your design to a printer and let them print the amount you want.

So you could have a go yourself. You can always go to a professional printer if you're not satisfied with your results, you'll have lost nothing.

Microsoft Publisher is a very good programme for making business cards and I think open office ( Free) has a similar built in application

I also use Publisher & have been making business cards for friends & family for years.

I would be happy to design something for your daughter if you give me all the relevant information by PM.

I can then e-mail an A4 sheet to you which can be printed off
either on card or. if you have a laminater on plain paper.
JJ

free of course - I just do it as a hobby.
