Web Design and Graphics Room. Thread, Sarah & friends, I need help

Hi Sarah

I have a niece who is disabled and is a little frightened to go on a forum to post although I have assured her that you donr bite, do you??

What she wants to do is design cards flyers etc and I told her to use M/S publisher and to my surprise, its not on her pc which has xp home.

Questions are, should it be there? is there another prog you can suggest?

I have her printscreen of progs but cannot see it

No you wont have it in XP.
Here is a free software download site, the programs are OK.
The only draw back is you may get mail, to upgrade to the newer paid for version.
But as the older versions are free, thats not a bad exchange.
This one is top of the page list of freeware, you will have to check if it runs on XP, it should do I would think.

Publisher is part of Microsoft Office, check if thats in the list of programs when you expand Office.

Just in case you haven't thought about it I am sure that ebay will have copies going very cheap but a freebee would be the best thing unless someone has a disc that they are prepared to part with.

I have Office 2000, Publisher comes on the second of the two disks I have.

Now I only have one cd rom drive, I will save to my desktop then copy to a cd-r right?

I take it, it's a CD rom burner drive you have, then yes.
You just request the program to copy CD, it stores it on your HD then writes it back (burns it) to a new empy CD disk.
It should tell you when its time to change the disks over to burn the new one.

If she has Works, she should have Picture it Publishing, which I use for cards, flyers,etc, it can even do animations.

It is quite easy to buy MS Works, or Publisher, on Ebay.
Works 2001, sold there last week for £1.60.
