I saw this on a clip art site, and wondered how it is put together.
I don't even know what this sort of thing is called, for me to look up a tutorial on it. I have PSP 7.

What you have here is an animated gif. With PSP I understand you have an add-on program called Animation Shop, try opening this gif file in that and I suspect you should get all the frames so you can see how it is put together.
Sarah should be able to advise further, she uses PSP. But here's links to a few Animation Shop tutorials  http://www.hypergurl.com/animationshop.html http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pai...ialsanimation/ http://www.psplinks.com/content/Animation.html |

Yes its an animated Gif, using what is called transitions between the pictures.
I have used this effect in html on one of my websites. Just for fun click the link, then click the demo button and play around with it, to see some of the different transitions available. Never tried it on a Gif image though and dont know the method used in your post. LINK

Problem with those transitions Peter, is that they only work in Internet Explorer.
If I wanted a code transition, I'd use JavaScript or a Java Applet. But gifs are something quite different.. they're image files. |

Yes Sky I edited my post at the same time you posted, it was just a play thing to show the effect of transitions not for Giff's.
I don't know how the effect has been achieved in a Giff, I think I have some idea how its done, but could be wrong. I have a feeling its done with slices of pictures in different layers to achieve a transition effect between them. If you see what I mean, the initial full pic then alternating slices to the next pic, does that sound feasible. Update It contains 44 frames on a transparent background, still investigating

I suspect you're right and it's one of those Peter. (I'd put my money on 'slats' or 'sliding boxes'
Go and see what you can find in PSP Animation Shop Deltadawn. |

You have all managed in Animation Shop what I would have suggested. Very well done.
