This website was found by our member Mr Fred Plant and may be of use to you if you wish to add a movie clip to your website.
As web space is limited on IDF and movie clips use a lot of space this website solves that problem. It hosts your movie clips so you can link to it, thus saving your web space on any website host you use. So heres the link and its free or you can pay for larger storage. http://www.DropShots.com And heres the link to Fred's home page to see this Movie link in action, about two thirds down his home page. http://www.idf50.co.uk/webhost/members/Taxus/index.htm Good find by Fred I think.

Hello CPS,
Thankyou for the info about DropShots, since your post I've been trying to use it for a couple of days but without much success. I've downloaded and installed it and have the DropShots box on screen but when I drag and drop anything to the box it never gets onto my page at DropShots. I also tried uploading from the website, this did give me a popup message saying Upload Complete but again I can't see it on my page at DropShots. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Regards, Tezzer. |

I will have a look and see what I can find out, I personally don't use it or have it installed.
It came to light as per my first post, as the spare space Fred had, was not large enough to accommodate his movie. The link is a result of how Fred got around the problem.

Found this in the help section, includes a link in the third paragraph if you have problem.
The link is active when on there site, have a try and let us know how you get on. Qoute Drag and drop your photos and videos to the DropBox application window. You may even drag and drop folders and all the photos and videos inside will automatically be found and uploaded. For example you can just drag and drop your "My Pictures" folder to quickly upload all your photos and videos. You can also drag and drop from photo organization applications such as Picasa, Photoshop Album, ACDSee, or ZoomBrowser. You will get a notification once the upload is finished. You may click the notification to go directly to your uploaded photos and videos, or you can always view your uploaded photos and videos by going to http://www.dropshots.com/‹your username›. If you have any problems uploading click here to go to "Problems uploading?". If you would rather not install an application on your computer you can use Web Upload. Click here to learn how to upload through the web. UPDATE this is what that link says. Quote Problems uploading? If you are having problems uploading please try the following: If the DropBox successfully uploads but you don't see the photos or videos, make sure you are logged in correctly. Click Menu on the DropBox application window and click "Login". Is the username shown correct? If not enter your username and password and click "Update". If you are connected but get an internet connection warning, check your firewall settings. You might need to simply disable your firewall or add the DropBox to your firewall exceptions. If you are drag and dropping from a 3rd party application, then that may be the problem. Drag and dropping from desktop files and not from another application. Either find where the original files are stored, or save the files to your desktop and then drag and drop from there. Try reinstalling the DropBox. Try uploading with Web Upload. Email support@dropshots.com and describe your problem the best you can. Include information on your username, operating system, browser, and any error messages you see.

Hello CPS,
Thanks for taking the time and trouble to help. It's all sorted now, I've managed to upload and view a couple of things from my Desktop and also by using the site Upload function. Goodness knows where the other things I did went to because as I said I did get a upload complete message before. Anyway the uploading bit is OK now, the next thing is I've just got to get it to work on my website. Regards, Tezzer. |

Hello CPS,
My thanks once again for the help. I have managed to get a small video clip up and running on my trial website. I will now be able to incorporate some movie footage into my monthly update pages on my Popical site. This will I hope be better than having to send large video files to the family by e-mail. Regards, Tezzer. |
