Questions about our Clubhouse Thread, Help with word

I have an ibm aptiva, it has windows 98 and office 2000 installed.
Whilst using word, all the tool bars have dissapeared,we have tried using the computer keys with no success, we have tried looking round the sides of the screen, and tried to bring up File and View.
We have also uninstalled Word, and reinstalled it.without success.
About the same time we had a virus, and a trogen horse, which we got rid of, via AVG.
I would be very grateful if anyone could resolve my problem
