Default Changing my user name

Sir
I tried to change my user name tonight from Ram137 to Rammy
I went to my Profile deleted ram137 and typed in the name i wanted Rammy then when I went to log on again later under my new name I was not able to log on again and have been trying for some time. At last I managed to log in as my old name ram137.
What did I do wrong How can I put it right?
Also I was not able to write to you to explain my fault without being logged in.
I'm lucky to have got back in at lastto put my problem to you.
I do enjoy the IDF 50 Club so much
Please can you help and many Thanks

I think you will find that Mr Tee may be able to help you when he returns in a week or two. He will read this on his return and no dought contact you, he holds the keys to idf.

Hi there Peter.
Do you think Mr. T could help me change my User Name too? I sent Graham a PM back in October about it but received no reply. I sent another today, then saw this Post. I want to change from Paulinee43 to Gemini.
Thanks.

Hi paulinee43
As you can tell this was an old post.
The problem is your user name is stored away in a safe place so a member cannot change it themselves for obvious reasons.
Security, duplication, miss use etc. I would send a PM to Sarah to see if she can do it from the Admin control panel.
If not you may have to wait for a Techie to change it.
Sorry I cannot give you a definitive answer, but Sarah may be able to, OK.

I have managed to change the two User names. Paulinee43 is now Gemini and Ram 137 is now Rammy.

Thanks a lot Sarah. I was able to get on here without logging in, but that was because I still had a cookie in my IE cache. If I have to log in again, using my new name, I won't find myself 'Locked out' will I?
