Default Smilies

Don't know if there is a connection, but . . . . since I had Vista installed, I cannot get smilies on my posts.
They show when I first click on them. But they don't appear in the actual post.
I do not have 'smilies disabled'.
And they work when I send a pm.

That's odd.
I went to click the edit button, and edit/delete showed.
But when the page loaded, there was nowhere to delete.

Above problem now solved . . . . smilies suddenly started working.

Huh - well they had. They seem to have stopped again.

They have, haven't they L.16.
In all my years on idf, I have never had this problem before.

I have just done a post elsewhere . . . and the blooming smiley has shown!!!
See if this one will.

Well, it is there at the moment on preview.

I wonder Everytime someone posts about problems with the smileys (and there have been quite a few - see also technical) more often than not they seem to miraculously behave themselves ..... can it be that once the gremlins have been spotted they move on elsewhere? Hmmm

Try again and see what happens, Lottie
