The usual "crime" of making what you can while you can.

When I was still working I would not have turned down the chance of legally making such money, and I very much doubt if most of you would eiher.

Stop being so hypocritical (and perhaps jealous).

If I am thinking of starting a new ISA, and I expect the rates to go up in April, it would be eminently sensible of me to wait until then.

Why is it sensible for me, but disgraceful and outrageous for bankers?

Like tax avoidance, don't blame the people who take advantage, blame the governments who make sure their friends and supporters have such nice little fully legal schemes to take advantage of.

    I don't think it's jealousy.

Can you perhaps explain why you feel disgust for someone who makes money to keep up a lifestyle they want for themselves, and their family?

I did it for fifty years, many others are still doing it/

Perhaps you are on benefits and it is the thought pf paid employment which disgusts you?

Yes I'm on benefit. The benefit of working hard for 56 years and receiving pensions for it.

I didn't cause anyone in 56years of working to lose any money on investments and the Government never had to pay billions of my fellow tax payers money to bail me out.

Yes, I am DISGUSTED at the level of bonuses paid in an industry that does nothing for the majority of people in this country and most of it goes abroad, and no one as of yet has been brought to book and jailed for the wrong doings and the collapse of some banks.

Cronyism is when the rich in government, and the rich in business collude to keep each other rich.

Laurie blames the government, but it takes two to tango. Business supports government, which supports business, which supports government, etc.

Laurie's fine with cronyism, because he's benefited from it.

How could he view it otherwise? And still face himself in the mirror.

So of course he condones it.

"no one as of yet has been brought to book and jailed for the wrong doings and the collapse of some banks."

If you have evidence of law breaking to to the extent which justifies a jail sentence it is your duty to bring it to the attention of the police.

Alternatively, you could always bring a private prosecution.

"Laurie's fine with cronyism, because he's benefited from it. "

No I don't condone cronyism, nor have I benefited from it.

However, its is our government, we elected it (and please don't come back and tell me "It wasn't me, it was the other guys.") and if we don't like what they are doing the solution is in our hands, nobody else's.

As someone has posted elsewhere, why do we Brits always blame somebody else?
