A facinating story for lovers of military history.
I have never heard of him and I read lots of military history books. I first came across his name while reading a book on Clare Boothe Luce today (the wife of Henry Luce, the publisher/ owner of Life,Time and Fortune magazines). She was in the Philippines at the start of WW2 for the Americans. General Mac Arthur told her about him: SEE: Homer Lea: Author of The Valor of Ignorance HistoryNet - From the World's Largest History Magazine Publisher |

Absolutely fascinating. I'd never heard of him either. Reading this reminded me of the Charlton Heston film, 55 Days at Peking, concerning the Boxer Rebellion. A great pity that Lea died so young.
