Default Cheap Eats

We have started a new forum Been There
For members to pass on travel tips, ideas, snaps and general info, many of the posts started in the general forum here but are too good to lose, so they are just transferred over to the new forum when they start falling off these pages.

Can you reccomend any 'Cheap Eats' in your town - not necessarily the cheapest restaurant in your town but best value for any visiting IDF'ers ?

Here's a good one I know in London
RSJ's, 33 Coin Street, E1 9NR been in the Good Food Guide for over 20 years. Just behind the South Bank, behind the National Theatre, close to Tate Modern. Nearest underground Waterloo. Set menu 2 courses £15.95 3 courses £18.95
Open early so ideal if you are going on to the theatre

The Drawbridge public house. They have a seperate dining room downstairs. Monday to Saturday inclusive 12 - 5pm. Carvery with choice of 3 meats and as many fresh vegetables as you can eat. £3.50 It's lovely grub! The beer's cheap as well.
It is in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

Keep trying to find similar in the Dover area

Thumbs up

In the area of Seattle are two chains which provide fast Asian foods, good & inexpensive. Uwajimaya can be found in Seattle's International District & in Bellevue, to the east of Seattle. Both are Asian food supermarkets but have cafeterias on the side. Panda Express can be found in several places in these areas.

Seattle's Westlake Mall has a food court on the third floor. The Center House at Seattle Center has one massive food court on the first floor. Bellevue has two malls, Bellevue Square & Crossroads Mall, which have food courts. All these have a wide variety of cuisines which are low in cost but high in quality.

My fave home eating spot is the Swiss Deli at Rathfarnham Shopping Centre. It was originally owned by a Swiss proprietor, but has changed hands since. Not the cheapest of cheap, but always good quality and a terrific atmosphere. The staff are all friendly. My Christmas Dinner was (almost) provided by them as I bought in their turkey and ham sliced, got my mince pies from them and gorged on their plum pudding.
