FILM Lady Chatterley (2006)
A French adaptation of the second (and much less well-known) version of D.H. Lawrence's erotic tale.
I recently visited Scarborough's Stephen Joseph Theatre to view the French adaption of D.H. Lawrence's tale. All I can say is "I LOVED IT". Pascale Ferran (Director)treated this version in a sensitive and intimate way that removes the so very over used 'erotic' tag. I have since read that this film has had 10 wins and 6 nominations at the César Awards, France and many more.
The audience that evening consisted of about 20 couples mainly in their middle 50s and above with the exception of the two young staff in their teens!! I thought it a shame that so many young people had missed this wonderful film. However I realised afterwards this was a Saturday evening and they no doubt had better things to do.
Not to be missed!
