Default 2008 Music Stuff (Condor)

Christmas/New Year is a busy time with the bikes but it's calmed down a bit lately.
So I've been able to catch-up with a few threads on the boards.

One thread got into steam trains - the ones that Plastic Pig (and his mates!) refurbish in the north of England. You can see these trains at Bury - they have 'open days' at Bury Station.

Plastic Pig & Co. do this work for free then raise money for local charities etc. by running the trains locally.

Country Music is full of 'Train Songs' so I've done a couple meself...
1) Railroad

2) Thomas

1) is a 'Gunfighter Ballad'.

2) is for Plastic Pig and the Guys that re-build the trains.

Both at www.soundclick.com/condorgb

Enjoy Nev!!!

March 2008

I've done 12 Country type tracks for a CD that a co. in Leyland want at last! (hardish graft!)

As I mentioned on a thread here, two workmates of mine have a few health worries of late...

Also, at soundclick I heard a super voice - belonging to a lady in Ireland.

So I wrote an Irish Aire/ Country Ballad for my two mates and with the voice of the Irish lady in mind...the song - with full orch. backing and my iffy vocal is at www.soundclick.com/condorgb
it's called Leaves of Autumn...if you'd like to take a listen.

I've asked the Irish lady if she'd like to sing the song...she is good...fingers crossed.....

P.S.soundclick mp3's are compressed highly - orchy music sounds better, from there, with good speakers rather than headphones.

Hey now, I only just got here and find this has been here for months!!! You could have dropped me a line!
Any way now I am here, some good stuff Dave and don't worry too much about the vocals. Somewhere I have a cassette tape of some of my efforts at live recording with my guitar. I did them in the days when I thought I could play one   However the words are all mine, and there is one also about the railways and the preservation of them.
I must take you to task though as I have nothing to do with the Bury, or East Lancs line, the railway I am involved with is the Welshpool and Llanfair line in mid Wales. I would hate to think someone could turn up at Bury and ask if Plastic Pig is around. They would certainly get a blank stare. Even on the W&LLR you would have to ask for me by my real name, as no one knows me as the PP there either.
However I forgive you for mistaking that I was involved with the Bury lot. I suppose to an outsider any rail working enthusiast is the same as another.
Back to the music, keep up the good work, and if you would like a different voice (mine is very different) let me know.
Now where is that bloomin' cassette.

PP, so glad you're here!
I can hardly wait to hear your voice -
I'm trying to learn how to make a CD myself, but don't have a clue yet.
So you have a cassette, what do you do next?

PP If you listen to the song 'Thomas', The Plastic Pig is in the lyrics!!! Sorry, couldn't resist!! As is the town name 'Oswaldtwistle' - A.Loyd Webber might have probs getting that word in a lyric!!!

Cheers Nev - get singin' & recording.....what we sound like is irrelevant!

Just a small question Dave, the site you use, "Soundclick" is it totally free to upload to or is there a fee?

I joined soundclick as a 'listener' and am pleased to have heard from a couple groups today! PP, have you joined up yet? Good question, PP and I don't know - Condor???

Also, Condor, I put you as one of my favourites on my page - and noticed you do not have a picture up. May I ask why - can I be of any help? (I think you should have something up...and it's not hard to upload one, just go to your profile.)

Hi PP!
Yes, a basic site @ soundclick is free. Upload as much as you like. You could put one there for the band (Well done with the band mate!!)

A pic Maggie?
Well, I'm 4' 9" tall. Old and resemble Golum. A pic may be a turn-off!!

I just listened to 'Maggies Blues' and I love it - and Condor, I'm very flattered. Wow - you have sure made my day I can tell you that!

Hope you don't mind but I sent site to my sister and my sons to listen to...give them something so they won't worry I'm dying here of the real blues.
Maggie

ps// You need to put up pic - even if you were 2feet tall, Mr. Pictures give meaning that blank spaces can't. Send me a pic of you offlist if you want - email it - and I'll do something artistically with it for you. Or, turn it over to the Art Studio - no telling what all of us might come up with for you!!!! (Now that's a idea...)
