Default Music?

Since 1996 I have been making/publishing original music. Two years ago I started a small retail business and being a 'one-man-band' this takes much time.

I've had to close music outlets on the 'net - not time to keep updated. In fact I've hardly, in the past month or two, visited this 'site.

But, thanks to all here for taking time to have a listen to the music - and thanks Graham for actually checking (by PM) to ensure that all was ok here - indeed, offering help.

Around 1995/6 music on the 'net was mainly made by Bontempi style software and was used in PC games - bubble & squeak music! One of the first sites to accept homemade tracks was the old MP3 site and, after investing heavily in software, samples and hard-drives (then 100,000meg was huge!!), I codged-up a track in Elvis' Are you lonesome tonight mode and managed (via Currant-Bun!) to upload it to MP3. (Vocal tracks then were beyond most hard-drives - too big). I also wrote a message with the song. The track got maybe 400 plays...but within a week but my OE inbox was flooded with e-mails from musicians & music fans all over the world - because of the 'net no one need be 'lonesome tonight'.

I'll write the message again here:

"Thanks for listening, goodnight. If you're listening alone, somewhere in the world right now, a very special goodnight to you.

best regards,
Dave,
England."

Thanks for the update Dave, shame the music had to go. You are fine musician and hope someday you can put your time back into it.

Default Music

Thanks Bob & Nev.

Over past 5 years my youngest son - Eddie, has become something of a guitar-player. He actually plays bass - er, 6 strings no less, with local 'Metal' groups/bands.

After finishing college (Btech Music) about now Ed is sort of 'job' hunting but has time on his hands. I've passed him a few of my er...'orchestral' pieces and he's currently arranging one of them for Classical Guitar. When done he'll play it, I'll record him, and we'll publish on the 'net.

One tune that interests him is 'I think of you'.

I 're-named' this tune 'Song for Phil' as a little 'memento' to the late (great) Phil Mitchel that used to post at this and other 'boards.

I'll post the music where you can hear it when it's recorded etc. and this time it'll be played 'live' by a guitar-picker, not by my PC!

Thanks for posts guys,
take it easy,
Dave @ Radcliffe
(Condor)(allthough of late this could be amended to Thick Twist...I've found this little baccer shop Nev....)
