Default Again - Condor's music!!

Condor, I just listened again to your music - yes, all 31 songs!
"Bury Me" and "Hey Wall" wiped me out -
your voice is incredible - I love it.
Do you have a CD out yet?
I couldn't make out how to order - don't have a credit card anymore, but do have PalPal - let me know.

Folks, this is where I went
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/defa...&content=music
Also, loved " I'd Love to See...I wonder if Mary's still there..."
That one gave me chill bumps again. Another question - do your instrumentals have words??? I listened to all your songs again.
Your voice is very special.

Well, look in Clubroom thread - at Maggie's Debut - and see the song I not only wrote, but sang tonight... Wish I knew what key it was in - I sang whatever key they played in - blues - was so good, Candor - I loved every minute.

I don't know if you play any blues - the harmonica night was so mean and the electric guitar player, a wizard... Anyway, here are the Lyrics - wrote it tonight about 9:30pm - this was the first time I sang with a mike - I felt scared the first few lines but after that, just belted it out...

"Big Boob Man"

I'm in love with a ugly, ugly man -
He's got big feet too...
He's got one brown eye, that Sugarman...
And the other one is blue.

He's a big Boob man,
Can't keep his hands off'n. me...
He's a big boob man -
Can't keep his hands off'n me...
I tell him, Come on, Ba-bee...
You can't have all of me.

I'm in love with a ugly, ugly man -
he's got bushy hair too...
He's got one hand that's broken,
and He wears old brogan shoes -
Ah yes....sss...
He's got one hand that is broken,
and he wears old brogan shoes.

But I love that ole ugly man,
He's my baby boy, I do declare...
His sweat is sweet, as sweet as can be
And I love that ugly, ugly man...
and both is big wide ugly feet.
...Yeah, I love that Big Boob man,
that can't keep his big hands off'n me.

WHOA!!!!!

Thanks very much Maggie!

I wouldn't dream of asking or taking £ from any IDF50 member and, you could easily make your own CD.
In next few hours I'll put tracks at soundclick on free download. Please download as you wish then, when you've time and chance, burn 'em to a CD yourself. A cd sounds much better than the compressed streams on the 'net.

MP3 files are quite small, you'll get quite a few on 1 CD.

Well done with your debut and the lyric posted - oooh! a song about boobs!!! Nice one!

The key of a song is tricky. I have probs. with I'd love again see Memphis (etc) because of the key!!! I'll try and re-do this song using Maggie (oooh!!! 8) instead of Mary!

And, if poss. I'll do a blues with the hookline..."...I gotta hear Maggie sing the blues..."

Yes there are lyrics to some of orchy bits. 30 years back I had to seek a divorce and I moved to Radcliffe with my two children. To travel from centre of Radcliffe, in any direction, you need to climb fairly steep hills...The words to 'I will take you home' hence are:

Gentle roadways rise, stoney hills every side
A place a heart can roam, looking for a home.
Here one day I stood. Alone and in the rain,
wondering if my heart, would find a home again.
Every way i tried, steep hills were every side,
could a home ever be found, down here in papertown.

(Inst.)

But those hills bade me rise, to seek the sun through rainy skies.
And one day I made the climb, and saw the sun in your eyes!
Now I look all around. At all the homes that have been found,
By those dared climb the hills,
Around old papertown.
Around old papertown.

Keep singin Maggie (Climb those hills!!!)
Dave xxx

Dave, you're going to have to walk me through how to copy onto a CD - I have no idea how to do that - but I do have the capacity on my computer - just never used it.

Do you have Skype? You could call me on it and walk me through making a copy - I'm maggieblue2266 on Skype.

I love that last song too, "I'll take you home" - please sing that one - it's a keeper. You've got a lot of mystery, gentleness, and something else in your songs - they pull at the heartstrings -

Is that a harmonica in the background in "I'd Love to See" ? I'm listening to this one again, for the 3rd time... am looking forward to hearing you do a blues!!!
You keep singing and play - and pray for me to be able to learn the harmonica...
Maggie

To 'burn' a CD just list the mp3 titles into the 'Burn' list in windows media player, shove a clean CD in the slot, set WMP to 'Audio' CD and click 'burn'. Windows will tell you when the tracks have all been etched. It takes a few minutes thats all. But you can just play the tracks in WMP.

I'll put my stuff on free download tomorrow am.

Again, nice one Maggie with the debut! With the help of the Internet I look forward to our first duet!!! 8)

Where is the 'Burn List' ? Is it labelled that?
Also, what is a WMP?
What are mp3 titles ?
Don't laugh - I can learn - wish I could see it done once, then I'd know how.

Do you play music by ear, Dave, or read notes? (or, both?)
Maggie

WMP = Window Media Player. This usually almost fills your screen and may have funny pattern acros it.

If you click on 'Library' on top buttons all the music files in your PC will appear in the main screen. If you click Burn a list will appear on the right - you drag & drop files from main screen to the list - which is the 'Burn List' (files to be etched onto CD or DVD)

To simply store files on a CD you save them as 'Data' files, but to use the CD as an audio - listenable- CD you save them as 'Audio' files when you Burn the CD. Click a few buttons on WMP and you'll find all the relevant buttons. For a quick bit of info' the Computer Room guys and galls will probably explain it all better than I.

An MP3 file is a music file - a track/song - that's compressed into the MP3 format. This saves loads of PC space but lowers quality very slightly. Most stuff on net is in MP3 format.
I've put all songs at my site into 'Free Download' mode. If you click on the small downward pointing arrowhead (the rightmost of the three in line) the track will download to your PC. I usually download to 'Desktop' then I see right away if file has arrived ok. Then I transfer to 'My Music' folder etc.

I write 'by ear' - all composers do. I can sight-read the tadpoles on telegraph wires.

I should have a 'Blues' backing track somewhere...you could write words & sing 'em over it...for your ...ahem, Debut Single...
8)
Enjoy Maggie - that PC of yourn'll do far more than get you on the 'net!
Dave.

Well done Maggie!

Blues won't be long, here's a 'taster' of the lyric: (think Orange Blossom Special country song?)

Gotta go to Florida, just as fast as I can,
Yeah, gotta go to Florida, just as fast as I can.
I got nothin' left to lose,
So I'll go hear Maggie sing the Blues.

I'll post it soon.

Drive carefully!
Dave.

When you get it uploaded, let me know... I played the CD I made of your songs today on my way to church...

I went nuts last night, downloading some Mexican Music, which I love, and a bunch of blues... I noticed half the people or more don't allow downloading, and more women don't than men.

PP asked a good question, do they charge you to upload something there?

I posted: Maggies Blues ( Just for u Maggie! ) and another song called An Old Soldiers Rose.

Maggie, what kind of Blues d'you like singing? Or, tell me a song you like singing..

********************************
I was browsing the Art forum recently and one of the paintings was by someone in Oz and features Roses...(Superb painting by the way) I've had an idea in my head for months - years even, and this painting 'pointed the way' so to speak...and at last I've done An Old Soldiers Rose.

The track is just a voice and guitar - with some songs you need nothing else - the words do it all.

D.
