How To Sell Your Paintings On eBay
by Kingy (studio moderator)

Now Artists, you have accumulated all these beautiful paintings in
different mediums, so what do you intend to do with them? I know when I first started painting seriously I didn't have room for them all, so I said to my daughter I am going to try to sell them on eBay and if they sell they sell if they don't well I wont die wondering will I..:)

I knew how to put things on eBay as I was selling different things
already. My very first painting was a watercolour as I was being taught that first, it was a window with flowers outside, I bought a secondhand frame and painted it white and advertised it as a shabby chick, I also sat it on a small wooden frame and it looked really cute (I thought so anyway:):). Well It sold in no time and I couldn't believe it. It went to Bendigo in the country, I believe I got $25.00 plus postage customer pays, that was about 5yrs ago. I know after it was dispatched and I got home I just broke down. I told my Tutor and she said it's because it was a part of your heart went with it.

Then after a while I taught myself oils, my first one on eBay was a
cornfield with a wall at the back and an old shed and that sold in no time. I was so excited, my Tutor was just as excited and then she said she would start teaching oils which we all got
involved. I was Selling everything even the acrylics I started painting also. I have Sold over 300 paintings to every State in Aust, as well as to the U.S.A. & UK. Some watercolours and oils I sold without frames and just added that they can choose a frame of their own choice.

You do have to sell yourself as you have no manager and put size of
image and condition etc., have confidence as I feel it can show through. I was asked to paint a bush setting with a swaggy boiling his Billy
sitting under a tree, I agreed, he was in NSW, but he wanted it about
2x2meters big and my tutor told me to forget it as it was too big. He may have been testing me, I would have had a go at half that size.

If you do decide to Sell your Paintings don't start too expensive as
you need to build your name up. My Tutor said that's how she started for a couple of years at first.
